Here in Braga you can visit “Bom Jesus” the most famous place of pilgrimage in Portugal. It's surrounded by a park and major locality for walkers and joggers. You can enjoy walks in the woods (on foot, by bike), but also pleasant moments of relaxation in the garden and pond.

There's a massive staircase (581 steps) plus chapels, fountains with water pouring trough the statues' eyes, a pond with rowboats, terraces, caves built from concrete and a original water-powered funicular (1882)

The Seven Springs

The sete fontes complex ( 18th century ) used to supply the town with water but is nowadays almost abandoned, strangled between highways and housing estates. Archaeological evidence suggest that Braga, from the time it was established was supplied with water from these springs.

Peneda-Gerês National Park

With countless streams, boulderlike mountains that reach above 1500m in height, tall oak trees that alternate with bushes, moorland and grassfields is this National Park an excellent place for long walks through the nature. The more adventureous climber can even do climbing tours over granite boulder formations, where encounters with eagles, wild horses, otters, foxes and wild goats will be no exception.

The National park is a 35-minute drive from the "Sweet Home Braga".
